Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toniz Collins (born in Mexico) is an Mexican American journalist. She is the host of SportsNation and is an anchor for SportsCenter anchor. She began her career at ESPN in 2016. She is the daughter of the reporter for television Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta is bilingual since the age of nine. Her ability was crucial in helping her land her first job as a producer assistant at Univision Miami in which she was a producer of programs including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Her first job was as a reporter for The CBS St. Petersburg affiliate following that. Her move from St. Petersburg to Rio Grande Valley in 2009 as a reporter for the Spanish stations KNVO TV 48 Univision, as well as Fox2 News. In 2009, she moved to Rio Grande Valley in Texas in which she was an editor for KNVO48 Univision and Fox2 News. Her duties as an anchor on sports and weather was also frequently demanded. Deportes 23 in Dallas, Univision's station affiliated with Dallas. There she had more duties. She was a reporter for the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series and Dallas Cowboys, NBA postseason, Finals FC Dallas as well the Dallas Stars. Additionally, she was host of the local Univision 23 sports show Accion Deportiva Extra. The show was promoted to be anchor of the sports segment for Despierta America Deportes' morning show. In Mexico City she was conceived on the 22nd November 1985. There is a sister. Her family relocated to Miami in 1992 following the departure from Mexico. In 1992, the couple divorced then shortly thereafter in 1995 she got married again Fabio Fajardo, naval engineer, who died in 2006 after suffering from kidney cancer. On a family vacation in Ohio, younger Collins had taken a position with her older sister. At the time of her senior year in high school but with a clear idea what she wanted to do with her life Antonietta went to the University of Mount Union to assess if it suited her needs. It was a beautiful campus as well as offered the level of education she wanted. After high school, she graduated and was enrolled in media studies at the university. Mark Bergmann was her professor as well as the director of WRMU, of which she's a member. They had a very close relationship. Her professor urged her to have self-confidence and was greatly moved by his passion for journalism.
